A: When purchasing a membership through POS, it will suggest customer duplicates, but it cannot merge a new membership with an active membership (so it will still require $ to complete the order.) After entering new member info in POS, a yellow flag will pop up suggesting that there are possible customer duplicates and give you the option to manage. If there is an existing customer profile that you want to merge with this new purchase, you can choose that profile and hit "Select and Update" to merge, then continue completing the sale.
This is helpful for merging the purchase of a new membership term with information from a prior membership that is now expired. If there are multiple active memberships, they cannot be merged in Acme. These need to be merged in Salesforce or managed in RE.
