In this release we have optimized the ACME eCommerce code to better support traffic spikes. The changes include the following:
Server caching of the ticket categories for 10 seconds to reduce API and database servers loads. This caching will not impact the user experience but will help protect the server resources in times of peak traffic.
Edge caching of the online calendar page for 5 mins, via our CDN (Cloud Delivery Network) to reduce server load, just like we had previously done for events.
Optimized the ACME API calls for Form responses.
Updated the Event API so that it will not make calls for event reviews data if the feature is turned off.
