Question:

How do I manually enter Credit Card payments when using an Ingenico EMV card reader?

Answer:When using an Ingenico EMV card reader, manual Credit Card payments must be entered on the device (instead of through a pop-up window in the POS cart).

To enter a manual Credit Card payment through the EMV, follow these steps:
  1. Add the item(s) to the cart and checkout.
    • If any items have flex pricing, enter the amount to be paid, then tap the Credit Card button so it is highlighted blue. If no items have flex pricing, Step 2 will happen automatically.
  2. The Credit Card button will be highlighted blue and the EMV device will change from "Ready" to "Insert or Swipe Card". There will also be a message in the bottom left saying, "ENTER CARD."
  3. Hit the F1 button below "ENTER CARD" to enter a Credit Card manually.Device image varies based on Ingenico model                                         **Device image varies based on Ingenico model**
  4. Next, enter the Credit Card number, then the Expiration Date in the following format: MMYY (12/2027 would be 1227), then the CVV or CID.
    • While entering the card information, the red button will cancel the transaction completely, the yellow button will delete the last character (if you need to correct an entry), and the green button will enter the information and move to the next step.
  5. Once you have entered the card information, the device will ask you to confirm if the total amount is OK. Hit the F3 button under "YES" to confirm.
  6. The payment information will be sent through to be processed. You will see the result message ("Authorized and Order Completed" or "Card Declined") on the POS device.
