Overview
ACME AC can be used to check in tickets when the device's connection to the internet is temporarily compromised.
TABLE OF CONTENTS |
How tickets are saved on the device
When a user logs in to ACME AC, the application will check the server to find any tickets that have already been sold for today's events. These tickets are then saved locally in temporary memory on the device. While the device is online, the application will continuously check in the background for new orders and save new tickets as needed. If the ticket cannot be found in the local memory, a call to the server is made to check for any new tickets that were just purchased.
What functions are available when offline
- If ACME AC goes offline, any saved tickets in the temporary device memory can still be recalled and checked in. Other features like Order Search will not be available until internet connection is restored.
Note: Checked in tickets will only be saved locally while the device is offline. When internet service is restored, any saved check in data is sent to the server as a batch. This could result in a temprary discrepency between actual scans and reporting when there is an unsatble internet connection.
